Exploring Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu

In this Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu Tour you will be able to live the complete experience of visiting these sites in just one day. To get there you need to walk to the top for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, it is a slightly risky journey at some points, but certainly exciting from start to finish because when we arrive we will have a spectacular panoramic view of the Llacta of Machu Picchu and all its natural environment, it is an incredible experience you will never forget.

Itinerary by Hours

  1. 04:00 hrs: Transfer from the hotel to Ollantaytambo train station.
  2. 05:45 hrs: Train trip from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes.
  3. 07:30 hrs: Bus trip up to Machu Picchu.
  4. 08:00 hrs: Ascent to Huayna Picchu mountain (Guides are not allowed on the mountain, only tourists go up the marked trail).
  5. 11:00 hrs: Guided tour inside Machu Picchu.
  6. 13:30 hrs: At the end of the tour we return by bus to Aguas Calientes and you have free time for lunch at a tourist restaurant, then you can visit the town or the hot springs (on your own).
  7. 18:20 hrs: Train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.
  8. 20:05 hrs: Transfer from Ollantaytambo to your hotel in Cusco.

Exploring Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu

Get ready to live a unique experience traveling the route of the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba River to reach the cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu enjoying the flora and fauna of the Peruvian Andes.

Very early we will pick you up from your hotel at 3:30 am and travel by transport to the Inca city of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, there we will board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, where our staff will assist you to board the bus that will take us to the archaeological sanctuary of Machu Picchu located high in the mountains, after a short tour of the Lost City of the Incas.

At 10:00 am we will go to the control point to start the ascent to the Huayna Picchu mountain, the ascent will take us about 1 hour to reach the top where you can see a great panoramic view of the Wonder.

On our return to Machu Picchu we will start the guided tour so that you can learn more about the history and architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed with the Inca constructions and temples, as well as the natural environment that surrounds it, in the afternoon we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes where we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo where a staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

Note: It is important to consider that the guided tour includes the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, but does not include the guided tour to the top of Huayna Picchu Mountain.
